Floral Coasters from Sesame Letterpress

These pretty coasters are new in at the Shop this week and would make a sweet Valentine!

A Recent Save The Date Postcard for Amy & Jake, who’s Wedding will take place in July. I’ll be working on their custom letterpress invitations over the coming months. It’s to take place in Portsmouth, New Hampshire so a French blue nautical theme is happening!

Julian Winter Vanderberg A great name for a great little fellow! This is my most recent Letterpress Birth Announcement. The Design involves a Stork flying over Brooklyn, carrying Baby Jules over (what used to be the tallest Landmark in Brooklyn) the Williamsburg Clock Tower - notice the clock is set to his arrival time! Printed in Squash and Pewter on Cranes Lettra Bright White, cotton stock. Congratulations to the proud parents Jessica and James! xo

Back by popular demand! I have printed a second run of 100 Downton Abbey cards also available in my Etsy Shop. this time in Pewter Grey with a Gravel Grey envelope. The first edition sold so well and so many people are still asking for them, so eventually I broke down and here we are! Downton Forever xo

Happy New year!

Good morning 2012! I for one am pretty pleased to see the back of 2011 and welcome the new year with open arms!

I never keep (or even remember) my resolutions each year, so this time I thought if I wrote them down it might keep me in check. Hopefully this time next year I will look back and have achieved at least 5 of them (keeping it real) here goes….

  • Learn to use my camera properly and take MUCH better photos (start by reading the manual?)
  • Hang that blessed CUSTOM WEDDINGS sign outside my shop!
  • Get better use out of my expensive archival inkjet printer (manual??)
  • Buy a Serger and make some use of my Fashion Degree by making a few clothes
  • Have printed running yardage available (upholster a chair for the shop window)
  • Work on a new line of Organic Cotton Voile Crib bedding for next holiday season
  • Create a new digital line of paper goods - cards, calender, journals etc..
  • Finish my Letterpress Weddings Collection once and for all!
  • Formulate a digital template based on my 2010 Family Tree Design
  • Design an Animal Alphabet for posters and small limited archival runs
  • Create a portfolio of prints for Licensing
  • Illustrate a Children’s Book
  • Hire an employee to help with all of the above
  • Take a vacation somewhere warm (England /New Zealand does not count)
  • Practice more Yoga and work less hours

I know! it’s a big list which is why I only aim to cross off 5 of them, then if I achieve more I’ll get a major pat on the back!

This Project began with a small photocopy of Ganesha being brought to me at the Shop. The plan was to take this as an inspiration for a hand printed Wedding Program for a very nice Red Hook couple - Sonal and Keith. I designed an Indian flower motif and created a repeat pattern from it. Made two panels (from and back of program) and re-drew Ganesha adding a few extra bits of detail and placed it center front on the book. I shot the double screen hand printed 100 programs and then scored them down the center. Inside the program were 6 pages of beautiful Indian Ceremonial instruction for the guests to follow (I used a border design of the same flower motif to tie it all together). Once everything was printed and scored, I assembled them but binding them together with a deep scarlet satin ribbon. Voila!

The Robertson Family Each year I have the most fun creating Holiday cards for the Robertson Family as they grow! This time I drew each of the kids flying kites in snow! Letterpress printed on Cranes White with Cranberry and Mint ink, tri-fold Holiday card - the family photo gets attached to the 3rd panel on the card.
